Ghibli Gardens - Gina’s Garden in Porco Rosso (1992)

Some believe Saint Paul’s Island (Isola San Paolo), on the Iseo Lake in Italy, to be the inspiration for the island in Porco Rosso. Others believe that Miyazaki was inspired by one of the Borromeans Islands (Isole Borromee), in the Italian part of Lake Maggiore.
